This is certainly a headline I never thought I would make.

It’s safe to say things aren’t going well for Steelers quarterback right now.

After suffering an ankle injury that required surgery back in Week 13, the former first round pick has been relegated to the bench in favor of third string quarterback Mason Rudolph.

In the absence of Pickett, and after the team decided to ditch backup Mitch Trubisky, Kenny has watched as a Rudolph-led offense scored 30+ points in back to back weeks, something that has been unheard of in recent Steelers time.

Rudolph’s success has kept the Steelers’ season alive, which will be determined this week, but has also thrown Pickett’s status with the Steelers in jeopardy. Fans and media are forced to wonder more and more if the Kenny Pickett era in Pittsburgh is already over.

But the most scathing criticism yet of the former Pitt QB has come from a place well known for their sports talk: Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Ironically enough, this exchange began when Chipotle posted a congratulations to Team USA for winning the World Juniors Championship in hockey, which makes this all the more funny. Chipotle was a sponsor of Team USA during the tournament, which their ad prominently placed on the player’s helmets.

Chipotle’s account wrote “can’t spell celebrate without ate.”

Underneath the post, a self-described Kenny Pickett fan replied with “can’t spell greedy without giving your fans a bogo.”

In response, the Chipotle account fired back with “can’t spell Pickett without bust,” and then signed it with the name Scott.

The Pickett post by this Scott fellow has since been deleted, but the humor lives on.

The post made its rounds amongst Steelers social media circles instantly, with mixed reactions and several promises to support Moe’s instead.

The internet is one crazy place.
