On Friday, the Pittsburgh Penguins traded longtime goaltender Tristan Jarry up to Edmonton.

The trade that felt destined to happen for a while finally did, and in a part of the five total assets that were shuffled around as a result, ex-Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner was sent back to Pittsburgh.

Skinner has garnered a pretty negative reputation around the league over the last few years. The custodian of Connor McDavid’s Stanley Cup chances will always have large skates to fill, but his struggles in back-to-back Final appearances (and losses) against Florida didn’t help his situation.

Now he goes east. Very east. And he joins a Penguins squad who has experienced a near equal level of shakiness at the position over the last few years. So, what can the Penguins do with him?
