Newcomer cornerback Desmond King was listed as inactive for the second straight week to begin his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

King had signed with the Steelers shortly after the team had announced their initial 53-man roster. The Steelers had cut punter Brandon Mann, one of two punters the Steelers originally had, to add King to the 53-man group.

A veteran cornerback and experienced returner, King will have to wait at least one more week to make his Steelers debut.

The decision to leave him inactive has drawn a bit of controversy, as starting corners Levi Wallace and Patrick Peterson had their struggles in Pittsburgh’s Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Many fans have been wanting to see King get some time on the field, in hopes he can bring some more stability to Pittsburgh’s defense. He has six years of National Football League experience under his belt, including 9 interceptions, 7 recovered fumbles, and over 30 defended passes during that time frame.

King’s last NFL game was January 8th, 2023, when he was with the Houston Texans.
