A two-way player would be the dream for any Major League Baseball team.

Even if they were never able to reach the stardom that Shohei Ohtani has, having somebody who could take to the mound and also to the plate would be an invaluable addition.

That was especially the case for National League teams all the way up until 2022, when the league had finally adopted the designated hitter position that the American League had already been using.

Pitchers in the National League were required to take up the bat and hit, almost always in the ninth spot, and almost always as an out.

But what if you had a veteran position player that you could help develop into a pitcher later in his career? What if you could manufacture a two-way player?
