The Pittsburgh Pirates are an absolute mess. 

After a sweep at home at the hands of the Cleveland Guardians, the Pirates are now 8-15. Chants of “Sell The Team” rained down on them Saturday as they wasted a Paul Skenes start — on a day where his bobblehead drew a sellout crowd at PNC Park — en route to 

Now, they go on the road to Southern California for three-game tilts with the Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers. 

Pittsburgh’s offense is one of the worst in all of Major League Baseball. As a team, they are slashing .206/.289/.320 through 23 games so far. All of those marks are a top-six worst. They are a top-three team in exactly one category — strikeouts, where they have racked up 211 so far this season.
