If I told you before the 2022 draft that the Steelers would take two quarterbacks in this draft and that they would combine for three Super Bowl rings in their first three years in the league, you would have been ecstatic.

You might have wondered why they decided to take two, but you would have been thrilled about how much this draft changed the future of the franchise.

And don’t get me wrong. This draft did, in fact, have plenty of impact on the team, just not in the positive way that fans hoped.

With the cuts of several members from that draft class from the final 53-man roster for the upcoming 2025 season, talk of the ill-fated class of 2022 is heating back up.

So, why not re-litigate that group of merry men?

The 2022 draft class was supposed to be Kevin Colbert’s final masterpiece. In his final turn running the draft before handing the reigns over to Omar Khan and Co., Colbert hoped that he had ensured the smooth transition of power extended not just in the front office, but on the field as well.
