One: No one deserves that kicking record more than Cam Little.

Back in August, the 2024 sixth round pick had drilled an amazing 70-yard kick against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with a few yards to spare.

It was the longest successful field goal ever recorded in organized football. But, since it occurred in a preseason game, it did not officially count as an NFL record. It was the absolute worst of technicalities.

No matter for Little, his day would come, and on Sunday, it finally did.

In the dying seconds of the first half, with Jacksonville in their own territory, head coach Liam Cohen threw his hands up and decided to send Little out there anyways. Little, facing a 68-yarder, made it look easy.

I have to imagine that even if Little had shown he was capable of such a long kick, it ate at him just a little bit that the record was not yet his. Well, it is now.

We rarely give kickers the appreciation they deserve, but with these guys now showing they can drill ones this far back, I’m hoping we start to give out some praise to the forgotten legs in football.

Two: The latest chapter of Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes saw the Bills take a 28-21 win over the Chiefs in western New York.

Allen had himself an incredibly accurate and efficient day, going 23-of-26 for 273 yards and three total touchdowns.

But what was far more impressive was how a limited and, honestly largely unimpressive Bills defense found a way to limit Mahomes at every turn. Mahomes was just 15-of-34, going under 50% in completion rate for the first time in his NFL career.

Buffalo also nabbed an interception off Mahomes late in the fourth, killing a potentially game-tying drive. Even in a season where the Chiefs still don’t like themselves just yet, Mahomes looked uncharacteristic on the field.

As things stand today, 5-4 Kansas City is not in a playoff position. I still will not believe the Chiefs are a non-playoff team until I see the standings after Week 18 and they are on the outside looking in. However, if/when they still make it into the postseason, perhaps they are not quite as dominant heading into the winter.

If the Chiefs and Bills do meet again in the playoffs, is this the year that Allen finally bests him?

Three: We have a new contender for biggest “WTF?” play of the season.

This one comes to us courtesy of the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Jordan Love. Early in the fourth quarter, on a fourth down play with the Packers needing a touchdown, Love has the ball, and…

I just, how does that any of that happen? How does Love somehow buy that much time? How does the throw go to a defender who that is clear of anyone else? And how does Michael Jackson (yes, that’s his real name) drop that ball?

If there’s a saving grace for Jackson, it’s that his team got the ball on downs anyways. But I had quite the laugh watching this play unfold.
