The Major League Baseball trade deadline is just a few weeks away, and the Pittsburgh Pirates and general manager Ben Cherington are fielding calls about a lot of their players from now until July 31st.

From rental free agents like Andrew Heaney and Tommy Pham, starting pitchers like Mitch Keller and Bailey Falter, and relievers like Dennis Santana and David Bednar are all getting buzz in trade talks.

Among those names is Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Pittsburgh’s shortstop who is on an expiring contract.

The Pirates acquied Kiner-Falefa last year at the trade deadline in their version of a shopping spree. The ex-Toronto Blue Jay was brought in, along with outfielder Bryan De La Cruz from Miami and lefty reliever Jalen Beeks from Colorado as Pittsburgh desperately pushed to end their ten-year playoff drought.
