A few weeks ago, I detailed some of the odd, occasional, and forgotten kick returners that the Pittsburgh Steelers have deployed over the years.
The team has not been able to find any kind of consistency, in both personnel and performance, in years. This season alone, the team has already used four different players return kickoffs. Ke’Shawn Williams is now the latest name on that lengthy list, but unlike his predecessors of both this season and years past, he’s putting up some decent numbers.
Williams went undrafted back in the spring, but was picked up by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent. He had some pretty strong highlights in the preseason, and although the Wake Forest and Indiana product didn’t get an NFL job out of training camp, he was able to snag a practice squad spot for the meantime.
